Have you tried our October sweater pattern? I designed this piece because I wanted to make something comfortable yet still stylish for the fall. I also wanted to experiment with a top that had extra long sleeves. I love how they create a ruffled effect when pulled back. A great thing about this pattern is that you can easily adjust the neck line, I think when I make it again I will try it with a larger scoop neck I think this will look beautiful with the long sleeves.
This pattern was very fun to sew it does call for a lot of fabric 3 yards! I know fabric can get expensive these days so I am always looking for ways to cut down on the cost of materials this often means that I use thrifted fabric. For this project I actually used a large mens sweatshirt and sweatpants. The long sleeves were cut from the pant legs! I would also like to try to make this out of a plush minky blanket one day. :)
How would you style this top? I like to pair oversize sweaters with skinny jeans or leggins and then add a pair of booties. I think this would look great with some leather leggings.
I recommend giving this project a try it is a great piece to have and is good practice for working with knit bands. The pattern is available here in the pattern shop. Happy Sewing!
